Our landlord’s had to stop Chelsea patrons dipping their hands into the tips jar today, with Blues fans already trying to scrimp together enough funds to afford next season’s new kits.
Lets face it, kits have become almost an extortionate enterprise in the Premier League; far from changing either the home or away jersey once every few years, clubs now launch new first, second and third kits each season.
Nonetheless, nothing quite beats having the souvenir of a replica shirt from a title-winning campaign, which Chelsea fans look set to be privy to this term with their side boasting a ten-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
And having dispensed of their competitors in relatively comfortable fashion this season, many Blues punters in the Tavern are feeling pretty confident about their side’s chances of retaining the English crown in 2017/18.
But will Chelsea be doing it in style? Well, a graphic of what Chelsea could be wearing next season based on ‘leaked information’ has been doing the rounds on Twitter and needless to say, these three kits look fantastic!

Of course, there will be no way of telling whether these are simply a hoax, inaccurate representations or bang on the money until the summer, but they’ve certainly got the Tavern’s Chelsea regulars counting their pennies in time for the official launch.
