Just Joe football show host Joe Wainman believes that Conor Gallagher has probably been promised game time at Crystal Palace.
The Eagles signed the midfielder on a one-year loan deal from Chelsea earlier this month. The 21-year-old spent last season with West Bromwich Albion, making 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
The midfielder was also linked with a move to Leeds United this summer, with Joe Wainman telling the Transfer Tavern: “I don’t think he’ll (Bielsa) lose any sleep over Conor Gallagher choosing Palace, I think that’s more just me because I was gutted, I thought he would have been perfect us.
“I just see that being the fact that at Palace he’s probably been guaranteed game time, he’s going to be a starter.”
As well as the amount of game time he could have been offered at Palace, he also fits into new manager Patrick Vieira’s ethos of bringing in and giving younger players an opportunity.
Vieira has already completed deals for Marc Guehi who is 21 years old, 22-year-old Jacob Montes, Michael Olise, 19, and Joachim Anderson, who is 25.
