Plenty of Leeds United fans have been waxing lyrical about former player Olivier Dacourt after he posted a tweet reminiscing about a famous night for the club.
In an exchange with another former Elland Road favourite Ian Harte, the two were remembering the night that the Whites beat Spanish outfit Deportivo La Coruna 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals back in 2001.

Both players started that game with Harte even getting his name on the scoresheet, whilst Alan Smith and Rio Ferdinand netted the other two goals (BBC Sport).
Dacourt was a key player for Leeds at the time and in total he played 81 games for the club in all competitions (Transfermarkt) before ultimately moving on to Roma. It seems that many fans of the West Yorkshire outfit have fond memories of the former France international’s time at the club, with several responding to his tweet to Harte to rave about him.
One fan even described his passing during the match against Deportivo as ‘world class‘. Here is what others had to say…

An absolute pleasure to have been there. Most (if not all) of Oli’s passes that night were world class. It was an honour to have seen him play and call one of our own.
