Leigh Griffiths makes a return to training

Celtic may have been handed a huge boost as a number of their stars are currently away on international duty.

Brendan Rodgers will be hoping that the men that have gone to represent their respective nations over the course of the next week will arrive back at Celtic Park in a good condition that will allow them to play against Hamilton Academical when the Scottish Premiership returns.

However, according to a report by The Express, it appears that the Bhoys are about to receive a timely boost from one of their stars not on international duty.

The media outlet are claiming that Leigh Griffiths has made his long-awaited return to training and will look to work hard to rebuild his fitness over the course of the next week.

The 28-year-old has been unavailable for the Bhoys with a knee injury for just over a month and could be available for a busy schedule that includes an important Europa League contest against Rosenborg.

The Verdict:

Celtic fans will be delighted to hear that Griffiths is back in training and is working hard to make a return to the side.

The striker’s return will have come as a timely boost to the side as the fixtures start to pile up over what is always a busy festive period.

Although it is believed Griffiths will not be risked against Hamilton, with important clashes against Rosenborg and the Scottish League Cup final against Aberdeen all to come, Rodgers will be pleased to have one of his main attacking options in contention to feature.
