The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to know where manager Antonio Conte stands with the board over his future at the club after some worrying reports reached the bar over the last week.
Reports have suggested that the Italian, who led the west Londoners to the Premier League title in his first season at the helm, is ready to quit Stamford Bridge after a rift emerged between him and the board over transfer dealings and the situation surrounding striker Diego Costa.
There was plenty of optimism amongst the Blues fans here in the Tavern after a sensational season under the former Juventus and Italy boss, however, now his future is up in the air the punters from west London are all rather glum.
Conte has been targeting success in the Champions League next season but, in order to achieve that, will need to bring in some top additions to add depth. However, with rivals Arsenal and both Manchester clubs having already announced new signings, there is nothing of the sort at Stamford Bridge as of yet.
Our landlord reckons this will all calm down sooner rather than later, however, Blues fans on Twitter are still in a bit of a panic…
