Let’s be honest: These 2 Chelsea players’ careers are well and truly going downhill

Antonio Conte will be smarting after losing out on Romelu Lukaku to Manchester United, and it’s fair to say it annoyed many of the Blues fans here in the Tavern.

Chelsea matched United’s £75m offer for the Belgian, but it was too late, Lukaku already had his heart set on being apart of Old Trafford draws.

The Blues boss is now looking for another alternative to Diego Costa who is expected to return to Atletico Madrid this summer.

Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Torino’s Andrea Belotti are now rumoured to be on the Italian’s radar, but both players’ price-tags are a stumbling block for the Blues.

Chelsea fans down at the Transfer Tavern seem to think there are a few at Stamford Bridge who should be concerned about their own places in Conte’s side.

The club have just allowed Bertrand Traore to leave, while Nemanja Matic’s departure is also expected. Who should follow?

We think these TWO Chelsea players’ careers are well and truly going downhill…

Loic Remy

Many would have forgotten that Loic Remy is still on Chelsea’s wage bill.

The Frenchman spent last season on loan at Crystal Palace, but failed to make an impression for either Alan Pardew or Sam Allardyce.

The 30-year-old has talent, which he displayed while at Newcastle and Queens Park Rangers.

And though his Chelsea career appears to be coming to an end, he still has a lot to offer and is available on the cheap.

Nathaniel Chalobah

The Englishman is another Chelsea academy graduate whose career at the club was foreseen by many.

Like teammate Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Chalobah has showed great promise, but it was always difficult to believe either player would be given a genuine opportunity to emerge as first-team regulars?

The 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Watford, and Chalobah is already familiar with Vicarage Road after spending a season on loan in 2012/13.
