The Spurs fans in the Transfer Tavern will be hoping Pochettino starts making moves for some players this window, before it’s too late.
Tottenham are no stranger to having their players’ careers quickly decline at the club.
Following on from Gareth Bale’s departure from the club in 2013, pretty much every player they purchased with that money ended up being a flop, apart from the obvious exceptions like Christian Eriksen.
It can happen to the best of clubs and the best of players, sometimes it just doesn’t work out at a specific club or for whatever other reason, a player can’t produce what is needed.
Look at Fernando Torres, he had a terrible time at Chelsea apart from a few highlights but is now back in form at Atletico Madrid so there is hope for everybody.
There are a few players at Tottenham who will be hoping that rule applies for them too.
With that being said, our landlord has identified TWO Tottenham players whose careers are well and truly going downhill…
Michel Vorm
Michel Vorm is a good quality keeper, unfortunately for him, Hugo Lloris is a world class keeper and that is keeping him out of the side.
Vorm only made five league appearances last season and three of those came due to Lloris’ hamstring injury at the start of the season.
For a lesser side, like his former club Swansea, Vorm could be the number one keeper and potentially regain a place in the national side and with his contract running out next year, it is doubtful he will get offered a new one.
Moussa Sissoko
Moussa Sissoko surely wants out of White Hart Lane this summer.
The French midfielder just never quite settled for Spurs and couldn’t replicate some of the performances we all saw him make in a Newcastle shirt the season prior to his transfer.
It is likely that he will be leaving the club this summer only one year after his £30 million transfer to Tottenham.
Pochettino will have to take the hit on this one but if he’s not playing well and wants to leave, that is the only real solution.
