Ligue 1 giants to hijack Manchester City deal?

Malaga ace IscoThere are raised eyebrows here in the Football Transfer Tavern as it is claimed by Sports News Ireland that Manchester City could well be set to miss out on one of their top targets this summer as Paris Saint-Germain prepare to pounce for Isco.

The Citizens had been linked with the playmaker after it seemed almost a done deal that Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini would be taking charge at the Etihad Stadium this summer with the Chilean tactician wanting to take his £35 million rated star man with him.

Isco may have penned a new deal at Malaga during the January transfer window but it only increased his wages and buy out clause – not the length of his three-year deal. Now it seems that Malaga are prepared for the player to leave yet are unsure of the destination.

PSG are looking to spend big yet again this summer and despite manager Carlo Ancelotti announcing his intent to move to Real Madrid, the club are keen to kick on and add even better players to their ranks. City for their part have been admirers of Isco for some time and the potential addition of Pellegrini has only intensified this further.

City feel that given the relationship between the player and Pellegrini, a move to follow him to the Etihad seems more likely than one to France. Of course as one punter quips, neither club will really struggle to meet the buy out clause for the player!

Are City still the favourites to land Isco this summer? Rate this rumour below.
