Our Arsenal Fans here in the Transfer Tavern are being very vocal as per usual after one of the worst few weeks in recent Gunners history. Indeed, while life has been difficult in north London for years now, things seem to have taken a turn for the worse of late.
Arsenal have lost to Swedish minnows Ostersunds, been embarrassed in the Carabao Cup final against Man City and they lost again by the same scoreline four days later in the Premier League, before a miserable 2-1 defeat away to Brighton capped it all off.
Many of the regulars are rightly fuming with anger as they watch their team’s passionless performances and total disinterest in the game at present.
One man who has been more vocal than others is celebrity fan Piers Morgan, he hasn’t been the kindest to his beloved Arsenal this season via his Twitter page, for example calling Mesut Ozil a stuffed lemon is just an example of his growing frustration. Furthermore, after the Brighton defeat, it seemed like that was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Morgan went onto writing a triage of abuse towards the Gunners and listed several players that should be gone in the summer, our landlord has picked three that should be high on the exit list…

Granit Xhaka
The midfielder hasn’t had the best careers at the Emirates ever since his arrival in 2016. He’s not lived up to the hype surrounding his move and no one seems to be quite sure of the Swiss’ best position right now. Indeed, many of our regulars believe that he has cost the Gunners more points than he gains them over the course of the season.
Arsenal are in desperate need of a defensive midfielder, the position Xhaka was supposed to fill funnily enough and it’s a problem that seems to have troubled the Gooners for years now. With that in mind, it should be a case of out with the old and in with the new come summer.
Laurent Koscielny
The Arsenal skipper has shouldered a lot of the blame in recent days, as four defeats in 11 days have left the Gunners’ confidence on the floor. Indeed, Laurent Koscielny has been a loyal servant to Arsenal but our barman thinks that his days are numbers as the age starts to catch up with him.
Between him and Petr Cech, Arsenal have two players with a combined age of approaching 70 in the first team and it sure is showing. Indeed, it’s something that, if Wenger wants to turn things around, surely has to be drastically lowered.
Sead Kolasinac
The former Schalke defender was seen as somewhat of a summer coup for Wenger, upon his initial arrival. Sead Kolasinac came to the Emirates with a high expectation on his shoulders after impressing for Schalke and impressed early on.
In his first handful of games, he seemed to live up to the hype, though, since then he’s dropped off dramatically. Now, he looks to have left all defensive responsibilities and wants to concentrate more on bombing forward. Much of his game is lacking in general and maybe a swift exit out of Arsenal may be the answer.
