Liverpool: Fans blast Takumi Minamino following stat reveal

Many Liverpool fans blasted midfielder Takumi Minamino on the back of their side’s 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland on Wednesday.

The Reds had already qualified for the Last 16 of the Champions League and Jurgen Klopp opted to go with a side that was evenly intertwined with first-team regulars and youth players.

After the full-time whistle, FBRef (via Anfield Watch) recorded that the Japan international made 37 pressures during the game, which was the most that any Liverpool player has accumulated in the past two games.

Since his £7.25m move last January from RB Salzburg, Minamino has come under criticism from segments of the Anfield faithful, after scoring just three goals in 27 appearances (TransferMarkt).

With this in mind, supporters were heavily critical towards the Japanese playmaker once more, with some even suggesting that he should be sold during the next transfer window.
