As Liverpool fans prepare for another European night under the Anfield lights, Jordan Henderson has said the team will be relying on the atmosphere to help them through this battle with Atletico Madrid (via Liverpool Echo).
The Liverpool skipper – who was recently announced fit to play against Atletico – has called for supporters to be in full volume this evening at Anfield.
“We come into this game knowing if we want something special to happen, we have to work hard to make it so,” Henderson said in a recent interview. “That’s what we’ll look do as players: give everything we have and, if we do, we know the support will be there driving us on.”
Fans are thrilled that Henderson could be returning to the starting line-up as they look to make amends for the 1-0 loss at the Wanda. One supporter has said the fans ‘need you more than you know Hendo’ while another fan has confidently tweeted ‘Atletico won’t know what hit them tonight’.
