The ever-reliable James Pearce confirmed that the club has officially made a move to sign the midfielder and will pay Bayern Munich about €30million (£27.2m).
The 29-year-old has been Jurgen Klopp’s top target for several months now and lots of contrasting reports have made for a rollercoaster of a journey. However, should all go to plan, the Reds will welcome their newest recruit and he will wear the No.6 shirt.
Lots of fans are beside themselves with excitement and have flocked to Pearce’s tweet in their thousands. One supporter has described the Thiago news as ‘gargantuan’ whilst another has said they have ‘actual goosebumps’. One fan is in shock after tweeting ‘it’s happening?!’
Indeed, he is undoubtedly a quality player who has won plenty of silverware in his career with both Bayern and Barcelona, including two Champions League titles (Transfermarkt).
