With Nathaniel Clyne confirmed to be leaving the club at the end of the season (via James Pearce), fans are pooling together to discuss his five-year career at Anfield.
The latest update on Liverpool’s outgoings this summer have declared that veterans Clyne and Adam Lallana will both be departing the club at the end of the campaign upon the expiry of their contracts (via Melissa Reddy).
Clyne joined Liverpool from Southampton in 2015 for £15.9million and has made a total of 103 appearances in red (via Transfermarkt). The 28-year-old’s story however is something of a sad one, he was usurped by academy starlet Trent Alexander-Arnold and as a result, was sent out on loan to Bournemouth last season. The England international has also struggled with injury, damaging his anterior cruciate ligament whilst on tour in USA last summer (via Telegraph).

Fans have been rating Clyne’s career on Merseyside, with one stating that ‘injuries ruined him’ whilst another has said he was a ‘massive upgrade on what came before him’.
Here is what some had to say…
How could you rate anything under a 5? He was a solid and reliable player for years. 7 easily

Solid defender, a massive upgrade on what came before him. Shudder. Solid 7 out of 10 imo.

Steady eddie. Polar opposite of Glen Johnson, not great going forward amd steady at the back. 6.5

7. Did his job, injuries unfortunately ended his careeer here. For twelve and a half million he was a solid signing whom we wish well for the future.
