Liverpool: Fans drool over behind the scenes footage of Virgil van Dijk

Many Liverpool fans erupted with delight after watching some behind the scenes footage of defender Virgil van Dijk.

The 29-year-old has been out of action since the Merseyside Derby back in October, where he tore his anterior cruciate ligament as a result of a very reckless challenge from Jordan Pickford.

Van Dijk posted a video on his Twitter account of himself pushing himself in the gym, trying to get back to full fitness.

The Dutchman has been labelled as the “best defender in the world” since his £75m move from Southampton in 2018, which was frowned upon at the time by BBC Sport pundit and Premier League legend Alan Shearer.

Unsurprisingly, supporters were jubilant about the footage and could not wait to see Van Dijk back in the red of Liverpool once more.
