Many Liverpool fans have been reacting to footage of young defender Rhys Williams during England U21s clash against Andorra in their European Championship qualifier.
The game ended 3-1 to the Young Lions, with goals coming from Curtis Jones, Ben Wilmot and a second-half penalty from Callum Hudson-Odoi, which secured the victory on the night.

But that was not what the Kop faithful was focused on. In the build-up to their spot-kick, Williams, who was making his debut for U21s, picked out a 60-yard cross-field pass to Jones on the right-hand side of the box (via The Anfield Talk). This was similar to what Virgil van Dijk did against Bayern Munich during the 2018/19 campaign.
The 19-year-old has stepped into Jurgen Klopp’s side after the Dutchman was sidelined due to a knee injury he picked up against Everton earlier in the campaign.

With this in mind, supporters went crazy after witnessing the talent and the vision that Williams possesses, with some suggesting that he may have been watching his Dutch teammate in training.
