Liverpool fans have heaped praise on Jordan Henderson after what he said following his side’s 2-0 victory against Sheffield United on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old took part for the full 90 minutes as the Reds set a record of being unbeaten for an entire calendar year in the Premier League. Their last defeat was to the reigning champions Manchester City, where they were beaten 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Pundit Tony Cascarino previously described Henderson as the “marmite of football” as the England international has been at the forefront of criticism from segments of the Kop faithful since his arrival from Sunderland in 2011.
Despite putting in a solid performance against the newly-promoted Blades, he was not too pleased with the overall performance. Despite the incredible run that the team is on, he felt that the team can still improve.
He completed nine long balls out of 13 attempted, successfully conjured up four key passes and accumulated a pass success rate of 92%, according to SofaScore.
