Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to some comments from Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti, as he heaped praise on Jurgen Klopp and revealed the German beat him to the Liverpool job.
It seems the Merseyside rivalry may be about to enter a new chapter, as not only is Liverpool’s expected weakened line-up on Sunday a huge opportunity for Everton to end their nightmare run against the Reds, but the managers are being nice to each other!
Speaking before the FA Cup third round clash, new Toffees boss Ancelotti had plenty to say about Klopp: “I think they made a right choice with Jurgen. He is doing fantastic work at Liverpool, so well done,” the former Napoli boss said, per Sky Sports.
After revealing Klopp had actually beat him to the Liverpool job, he continued: “Jurgen is my friend, we have a good relationship and I had the luck to beat him last season as well, although they won the competition.”
Of course, Reds fans are loving the revelation that Ancelotti wanted to come to Anfield but was beaten to the post by Klopp, as well as enjoying his praise of their charismatic leader.
