This time last year, Liverpool won their fourth UEFA Super Cup title by defeating Premier League rivals Chelsea.
It was a cagey affair which ended in a 1-1 stalemate after 90 minutes, forcing the two sides into extra time. Sadio Mane and Olivier Giroud were on song to score for their sides, but there were two more goals in the additional half-hour.

Mane put Liverpool ahead in the 95th minute but the Blues were awarded a penalty just six minutes later, which Jorginho converted. It boiled down to a penalty shootout, which Liverpool dominated with composure from both the spot-kick takers and Adrian in goal.
Virgil van Dijk has posted a video of him posing with the trophy on his official Twitter profile to remind fans of the thrilling match from one year ago today.
Indeed, many supporters have flooded the comments of the £72m-valued defender’s tweet. One fan has replied saying that Van Dijk is ‘on fire’, whilst another has said they ‘love to see everything about it’.

You love to see everything about it. Long before we gained our perch, we were only dreaming of a world class defender but now we have a superstar and an ostentatious one too and you can't do nothing about it. 💉
