The two sets of management teams at Anfield got into an altercation following a controversial foul given against Chelsea in their defeat to Liverpool on Wednesday night.
The incident in question saw Sadio Mane go down following a Mateo Kovacic challenge and a set piece was awarded to Liverpool. Trent Alexander-Arnold stepped up and whipped a stunning free kick past Kepa Arrizabalaga to extend his side’s lead to 2-0 shortly before the interval.

However, Frank Lampard was furious with the decision and strongly believed the foul should not have been given. David Lynch has reported that the Chelsea boss and assistant Liverpool coach Pep Lijnders were arguing on the sidelines over the decision.
The Premier League champions went on to win the game after an exhilarating 5-3 outcome, which boasted eight different scorers.

Loads of Reds fans are backing Lijnders and are praising him for his attitude towards the situation. One supporter has replied tipping him to be ‘our next boss after Klopp’. There’s no certainty over when Jurgen Klopp will leave his role at Merseyside, but Lijnders could be in line to take over once that day does come.
