A lot of Liverpool fans had almost given up on signing a goalkeeper this window. Jurgen Klopp had publicly backed Loris Karius and with the revival of the Nabil Fekir deal it seemed like the Anfield club were pouring their resources into a number ten and not a shot-stopper. That was until reliable Liverpool journalist, David Maddock, started to get the fans excited with this tweet.
Right, off to watch #LeTour. Should be quiet when I'm away…just the small matter of Liverpool signing a keeper and a no. 10, and Everton a centre half, someone for the left side and a striker. Hopefully in the next fortnight….!

According to Maddock, Liverpool could be signing a goalkeeper and a number ten in the next two weeks. What goalkeeper they’re looking at is still up for debate. Last night reports broke that Alisson Becker’s representatives would be speaking with the Roma bosses today as a bid from England was expected, although it was unclear whether the bid had come from Chelsea or Liverpool. With Thibaut Courtois expected to leave Stamford Bridge, Alisson could still end up anywhere.
Whilst Liverpool’s pursuit of a contempt goalkeeper rolls on, the fans are all excited over the prospect of signing a genuinely creative number ten and Fekir fits that bill. The Kopites have already watched on as both Fabinho and Naby Keita have been announced and now the fans could be in for a treat with the signing of the 24-year-old Frenchman who scored 23 goals in 40 games last season and became a World Cup winner with France in Russia this summer.
