Liverpool fans on Twitter aren’t happy as Mignolet returns to Melwood injured

Liverpool seem to have the worst luck when it comes to losing players to injury. The international break has barely begun with not a single game played, yet The Reds have already seen both Adam Lallana and Simon Mignolet return to Melwood after sustaining injuries in training with their national teams. Whilst most fans have acknowledged the fact that losing your second choice goalkeeper isn’t exactly a huge loss, you never know what’s round the corner and if Alisson Becker suffers the same fate whilst training with Brazil then they could be stuffed, especially after letting Loris Karius leave for Besiktas on a two-year loan. Mignolet’s injury marks the second Liverpool player to pick up a knock and the fans aren’t happy at all.

It looks like the fans will be looking to wrap Alisson in cotton wool now, and if he does manage to get a knock in Brazil’s upcoming games against The USA and El Salvador then Jurgen Klopp will be forced to throw a youngster in to face Tottenham at Wembley when the international break is over. Mignolet could be fit to face Spurs but if the injury flares up it could easily knock him back a few more days and see him miss out on the Wembley date, something he won’t want one bit.
