Last night, whilst turning out for his country, Hugo Lloris was unfortunate enough to lose his clean sheet against Germany as Toni Kroos opened the scoring inside 15 minutes with a penalty at the Stade de France. Les Bleus went on to win the tie, but it didn’t stop plenty of Liverpool fans getting onto the Tottenham captain over failing to keep Kroos’ weak spot-kick out.
By now we all know that Liverpool fans can be a strange bunch. However, to be getting onto a goalkeeper’s back for failing to save a penalty is a bit much. You can’t blame them too much, though, as seeing a shot-stopper with ‘Lloris’ as his name must bring back some pretty painful memories of their own Loris Karius who single-handedly lost them the Champions League final back in May.
A lot of Reds are firmly of the belief that their new number one, or number 13 that is, is a much better shot-stopper than Hugo Lloris, even if he is a lot younger and doesn’t have the experience yet. For most fans, making the call between Alisson and Lloris is a tough one seeing as most fans simply haven’t seen enough of the Brazilian man at Anfield. Sooner or later, though, it will be clear who the better ‘keeper is but either way you can guarantee the Kopites will still be slating Lloris.

The Reds aren’t having any of it when it comes to Lloris and will be keen to jump on him when he next makes a mistake for club or country.
