The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in a state of shock today. Indeed, while the proverbial rumour mill is always likely to churn out some bizarre rumours, the fact that Gareth Bale and Mo Salah have been touted in a potential swap deal has our resident Reds stunned.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Champions League holders have been impressed with Liverpool’s Egyptian King and are reportedly weighing up an offer to swap the former Roma man with Bale, who has struggled for form and fitness of late.
A few years ago, this would have seemed like a no-brainer. However, Salah’s ludicrously good form this season, coupled with Bale’s fitness problems have our local Kopites scratching their heads as to why on earth the club would even consider such a deal, should it be offered.
