Liverpool: Fans question Danny Murphy’s comments about Granit Xhaka

Liverpool fans have responded to comments made by former Reds midfielder Danny Murphy after suggesting on talkSPORT that former Arsenal captain Granit Xhaka would shine in Jurgen Klopp’s team.

The outspoken Gunners’ midfielder looked like he was on his way out of the club after he was substituted during his side’s 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace.

Whilst leaving the field, he was jeered by the Emirates faithful. In response, he hit back at fans and threw his shirt to the ground as he trotted down the tunnel in disgust.

Since Unai Emery was sacked and Mikel Arteta was appointed, he has been brought back into the squad as the 27-year-old looks to re-establish himself in the Arsenal side.

Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy was covering the Gunners’ 1-0 win against Leeds United in the FA Cup on talkSPORT. He said that Xhaka would look a much better player alongside the likes of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Supporters were left confused by Murphy’s remarks and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that the pundit had “lost the plot”.
