Liverpool fans have agreed with the predictions of BT Sport pundits after suggesting that Jurgen Klopp’s side could go on and win the Champions League again this season.
Rio Ferdinand, Glenn Hoddle and Peter Crouch were covering Tottenham’s trip to Bayern Munich and were asked by host Gary Lineker who would win the competition after the conclusion of the group stages on Wednesday.

Hoddle, who managed England at the 1998 World Cup in France, named Liverpool as the main candidate to win the tournament, with Atletico Madrid having an outside chance.

Both Crouch and Ferdinand echoed the thoughts of the 62-year-old, with the former Manchester United defender crediting the German boss’ team and their winning mentality being a critical factor in their chances of winning back-to-back European titles.
All three wrote off title rivals Manchester City after questioned by Lineker, stating that they would be “picked off” too easily on the break by the better sides in the competition.
