Liverpool: Fans react to Divock Origi report

Share

RC Lens are hoping to bring Liverpool striker Divock Origi back to Ligue 1 come January, according to a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato.

Origi apparently wants more playing time, and the Reds would be willing to let him go if their valuation of £10.3million is met.

Are Liverpool already ‘short’ in attack?

Liverpool failed to sign an attacking player in the summer and sold one of their existing options, Xherdan Shaqiri, to Lyon.

Club legend and Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has warned that are they now ‘short’ at the top end of the pitch.

Early-season injuries to Roberto Firmino and, more seriously, Harvey Elliott have already weakened their depth.

AFCON another factor

Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are set to the head to the Africa Cup of Nations in January, meaning they’ll miss at least Liverpool’s Premier League games against Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Fans may have expected Origi to form part of a makeshift frontline in their absence.

Fan feed Anfield Edition relayed the transfer report, and here’s what supporters made of it, with one fan calling the potential hit to the squad’s depth ‘insane’.

Liverpool fans fire Origi warning

“So basically then we will play minamino, jota and karius as front three when salah and mane go. Our squad depth is insane!”
