Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum will return to Merseyside from international duty after scoring in both of Netherlands’ Euro 2020 qualifiers in recent days.
The 28-year-old rounded off his country’s 4-0 win in Estonia last night with a late header, adding to the goal he notched against Germany in a 4-2 win on Friday.
Liverpool supporter Ben Webb tweeted a video of Wijnaldum’s goal against Estonia (via @BenWebbLFC) after the match.

That took Wijnaldum to 12 goals in 56 caps for Netherlands, for whom he has played mainly as an attacking midfielder and scored five goals in nine games in the last calendar year. [via TransferMarkt.co.uk]
By contrast, he has netted just 13 times in 145 appearances for Liverpool since joining the club three years ago from Newcastle for £25m, scoring five times in 47 appearances last season. However, he had been deployed as a central or defensive midfielder in the vast majority of those games.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter had their say about the Netherlands midfielder:

The fact that he gets to win headers against taller oppositions still baffles me though.
