Liverpool: Fans react to James Pearce’s Curtis Jones tweet

Many Liverpool fans are reacting to a tweet from James Pearce in which he piles the praise on emerging academy star Curtis Jones.

The Athletic journalist tweeted: “Wrote this recently on Curtis Jones. He’s no longer Liverpool’s future, he’s their present”, linking to a recent article in which he championed the youngster’s impact. This is very high praise but it is well-deserved as the midfielder has been a welcome positive in a disruptive campaign for the Reds. One fan called him ‘amazing’ given his performances in recent months.

He has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season, including 19 in the Premier League and five in the Champions League. Along the way, he has picked up four goals and three assists (WhoScored).

To be getting so much experience in a strong Liverpool side under Jurgen Klopp at the age of 20 emphasises how good he already is, and it is frightening to imagine the world class potential he could possess.

Hopefully Jones can continue to improve this season and help the club finish in the top four by the end of it, whilst possibly winning the Champions League along the way.

Here is how Liverpool fans reacted to the tweet:
