Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to an update on Jurgen Klopp’s summer transfer plans, as the Reds boss is reportedly planning for the future with AFCON and the Olympics in mind, as well as two potential summer departures.
According to The Athletic, via @LFCTransferRoom, the African Cup of Nations and Olympic Games will impact Klopp’s plans in the transfer window, while the likely departures of Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri will also play a role, meaning some new additions up front could well be in order.
The Reds of course have several African stars in the shape of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, and Naby Keita, all of whom could be missing for most of January 2021. Shaqiri is expected to leave the club after suffering through injury troubles for most of the campaign, with The Liverpool Echo saying the Switzerland international’s exit is inevitable, while Lallana’s contract expires this summer.
