Loads of Liverpool fans have been reacting to the latest transfer news, as reports claim they are eyeing Arsenal duo Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka.
According to Football Insider, the Reds are not seeking major moves for established first-team stars this summer, but are instead eyeing young prospects to provide for the long-term. Two such prospects are Gunners teenagers Martinelli and Saka, who have both impressed with their performances this season.
The report claims a Liverpool source has said that the club are ‘on the trail’ of the two teenagers, and Martinelli in particular has got Reds fans talking. The Brazilian forward has shown impressive versatility and maturity this term, playing in five different attacking positions for Unai Emery and Mikel Arteta, scoring ten times in all competitions.
This versatility is perhaps why one fan has claimed the £16.2m-rated (Transfermarkt) 18 year-old could be the ‘future Firmino’, while another stated that the former Ituano starlet would become ‘an absolute star’ under Jurgen Klopp. Check out some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
