Liverpool fans have reacted to comments that former midfielder and talkSPORT pundit Danny Murphy made about his preference between Roberto Firmino and Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
The 42-year-old said that he would prefer the Spurs’ talisman as opposed to the Brazilian forward, much to the amazement of supporters.

Murphy spent seven seasons at Anfield and made his debut for the club at the age of 20 during a Premier League match against Wimbledon. The Chester-born former midfielder made 249 appearances and scored 44 goals, providing 13 assists.
“Liverpool or Man City, would he get in both teams?” 🤔
“Would #LFC and #MCFC fans take Harry Kane now?”
“I think Kane would get into the Liverpool team ahead of Firmino.” 👀

He was best known for scoring three Old Trafford winners against Manchester United during the early ’00s.
Supporters have not bought Murphy’s opinion and have made their feelings clear on social media. One fan said that he “clearly doesn’t know” the role that Firmino, 28, plays in the team, while another said that he would be tired after 20 minutes.

No chance

No chance! Firmino makes that front 3 what it is. He’s irreplaceable in Klopp’s systems

He isn’t a better footballer, not even close, hes a better goal scorer with the instincts of a natural striker…

Its not about who’s a better player its about the system and who fits more. I would not swap Firmino for Kane. Firmino makes our attack tick. Kane scores more goals because he’s a goal poacher. However many times do you see Firmino drop deep to free up space for Mane and Salah

Heard a bit of this earlier, and the fact Danny Murphy dismisses Firmino like he does goes to show he doesn’t realise the importance he is to Liverpool, he’s not Harry Kane, and tbh why would Liverpool upset their squad to fit Kane in ? I’d understand if we were playing badly.

Kane is a fantastic striker, however Firmino is a player that makes Liverpool’s front three tick, he’s one of the best false 9’s in the world

You lot really are clueless Kane’s been well below the standard of either team this season

Just shows Murphy hasn’t a clue
