Some Liverpool fans have been left stunned by the commitment and desire of Jordan Henderson, after Darren Bent revealed a remarkable story from their time together at Sunderland.
Having played for the likes of Tottenham, Aston Villa and Sunderland, Bent has bags of experience in the Premier League and knows all about what it takes to be a top professional. As reported by The Liverpool Echo, the former striker has revealed exactly how professional Henderson is, claiming the Reds skipper was actually asked to stop training because his heart rate was too high.
“He is the only guy I have trained with and played with that got pulled out of training because their heart rate was too high,” he said.
“All the years I have trained and played, he was the only player where the manager had to pull him out of training because the manager was like ‘Listen, your red zone stats are way too high, you are going to have a heart attack if you carry on’.”
The 29 year-old was recently named as England Men’s Player of the Year, and it seems he is finally starting to earn credit from the masses as he marches towards a first Premier League title. Fans on social media could scarcely believe Bent’s words, heaping praise on their skipper as you can see in the tweets down below…
