It happens too often where Liverpool fans, and all football fans for that matter, overhype their star men. One of those that Reds love lauding is Alisson Becker, and yesterday saw the Brazilian drop a clanger against Fulham when his mix-up with Virgil van Dijk led to the Cottagers equaliser in the Red’s 2-1 win on the road.
Whilst it certainly wasn’t a moment to be proud of, the Kopites need not worry about Alisson’s blunder too much, as is mentioned above, the game finished 2-1 to the travelling side and whilst the error from the Brazilian is one that he won’t want to see again, it’s one that didn’t cost his side any points. The only worrying thing is that it’s not the first one that he’s made this season.
No, that mistake against Fulham is the Brazilian’s 4th of the season that the Reds can recall. Previous errors against Leicester, Manchester United and Crystal Palace have all seen the Kopites ship cheap goals, and it looks like it’s just a matter of time until the 26-year-old does drop a clanger that sees his side drop two points here or a point there, and that is not what the fans need as the title race intensifies.
You can read the Reds’ thoughts on Alisson’s blunder here:
Still can’t decide whether the Fulham goal is 50/50 VVD/Alisson or 67/33. That’s the 4th one this season, where Alisson should clearly do better (in addition to Leicester, United & Palace).
Most importantly, none of them cost points. #LFC— Sasha Goryunov (@Slasherrrr) March 17, 2019
Fulham’s goal wasn’t Van Dijk mistake at all in my opinion. He can do little after that horrendous clearance by Milner, also Alisson could’ve done better… It doesn’t matter now, but good that this moment didn’t cost us 2 pts. #LFC

Never a Van Dijk mistake. Never! Milner and Alisson’s. #LFC

The Reds weren’t best pleased with Alisson as his blunder cost them a goal and gave them a nervy finish, but ultimately all that matters is the three points, and that’s what they’re taking home to Anfield.
