Liverpool have announced their second senior signing of the transfer window as Thiago Alcantara has joined the club.
After James Pearce confirmed that the Reds had made an official move for the midfielder, Twitter is buzzing with talk over his arrival. Fellow Athletic reporter Simon Hughes has highlighted the significance of Liverpool landing Thiago.

Chelsea have enjoyed a lavish window after spending more than £200million. Timo Werner and Kai Havertz are arguably amongst their marquee signings and are players Liverpool gave also shown interest in.
The Merseyside outfit briefly monitored Havertz but his teammate was linked heavily to an Anfield move.
Now, Liverpool could have redeemed their loss on Werner by agreeing terms with Thiago.
