Liverpool: Fans want to sign transfer target Bukayo Saka after superb assist vs Everton

Lots of Liverpool fans are drooling over the potential of reported target Bukayo Saka, after the Arsenal youngster produced another stunning assist for the Gunners on Sunday.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein claimed recently that both Liverpool and Manchester United are ‘seriously interested’ in Saka. The versatile 18 year-old will be out of contract in the summer of 2021, meaning he could potentially be signed for a relatively low fee this summer if he does not sign a new deal in north London – he is currently valued at £11.7m by Transfermarkt.

And with left-back perhaps the only position in Jurgen Klopp’s side without a recognised second-choice, fans are eyeing Saka as an understudy and eventual successor to Andy Robertson. Of course, much of the creativity in Klopp’s system comes from the full-backs, and Saka recorded his ninth assist in all competitions in Sunday’s 3-2 win over Everton, curling in a delightful cross for Eddie Nketiah to finish with ease. His nine assists look particularly impressive given he has played just over 1,700 minutes this season, averaging roughly one every 180 minutes.

Given that the Arsenal teenager can play anywhere on the left flank, some fans believe he could be the perfect signing as he is capable of providing depth behind both Robertson and Sadio Mane. Check out some of the best Twitter reactions down below…
