A number of Liverpool supporters have been going wild over the news that Virgil van Dijk may feature in this week's friendly against Hertha Berlin.

Van Dijk's cruciate ligament injury last season was arguably the defining moment of the Reds' campaign, with the 30-year-old ruled out from October onwards.

The Dutchman has been widely seen as the world's best centre-back for a number of years and his long absence hurt Liverpool badly.

Van Dijk has been working extremely hard on his recovery for many months now and it appears as though his long-awaited return could be imminent.

According to Jurgen Klopp, the centre-back is on the verge (LFC Official Site) of a return to first-team action and he could feature against Hertha on Thursday night.
