Liverpool: Fans fume at injury news on Thiago Alcantara
Many Liverpool fans saw red over the news that midfielder Thiago Alcantara is to miss Saturday’s lunchtime clash with Brighton in the Premier League.
The 29-year-old has been sidelined ever since he picked up an injury during the Reds’ 2-2 draw against Everton, which saw the colossal Virgil van Dijk ruled out for the season with a serious knee injury.
The Liverpool Echo revealed that Thiago is among four or Jurgen Klopp’s key assets that will not feature, including Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed this in his pre-match press conference, stating that he was still in recovery and they will have to monitor his progress.
