A number of Liverpool supporters have reacted to a significant update regarding Mohamed Salah's future, urging the club to give him what he wants.

The 29-year-old has become a genuine Reds legend during his four-and-a-bit years at Anfield, winning the Premier League and Champions League as well as smashing goalscoring records along the way.

Salah is arguably Liverpool's best player currently, perhaps along with Virgil van Dijk, and it is imperative that he stays put for years to come.

Talks over a new deal have been slow so far, however, but according to the Sunday World [via Anfield Watch on Twitter], the Reds are 'optimistic' that a contract will be agreed with the Egyptian in the next few months.

It may not be plain sailing, though, with Salah justifiably wanting to be the club's highest-paid player.
