Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara has responded to rumours that a return to Barcelona could be on the cards.

Portuguese transfer insider Pedro Almeida claimed earlier this month that Thiago could follow Dani Alves back to the Camp Nou.

New Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez has apparently held talks with president Joan Laporta about bringing him back.

What did Thiago have to say about these rumours?

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's Champions League clash with FC Porto on Wednesday night, Thiago insisted that he 'didn't care' about this speculation and was 'focused on the duty I have with my team'.

Fabrizio Romano relayed his comments and added that, while the Spaniard is considered a 'magnificent player' at Barcelona, they have not made a formal approach 'in the last months'.

Thiago has made over 30 appearances for the Reds since he joined from FC Bayern in 2020.

Manager Jurgen Klopp labelled him 'world-class' earlier this autumn and promised that there was 'more to come'.

Here's how a selection of fans reacted to Romano's tweet.
