As per a report in Italian newspaper La Repubblica, via Milan News, a fresh Liverpool transfer claim has come to light involving AC Milan star Franck Kessie.

The Lowdown: Kessie talks stall...

As things stand, the Ivory Coast international is set to leave Milan for nothing later this year with no agreement reached on a new deal.

Kessie, who has been in great form for the Serie A giants over these last two seasons, scoring many goals from midfield, has attracted no shortage of suitors from both abroad and the Premier League.

The 25-year-old's soon-to-be free agent status is a major pull and it appears Liverpool are now looking to get involved as they eye fresh faces for Jurgen Klopp.

The Latest: Liverpool set their sights...

As per La Repubblica (via MN), Kessie is now 'in the sights' of Liverpool as well as Barcelona, PSG and Newcastle United.

It is also believed that the Reds, and by extension owners Fenway Sports Group, are 'ready to move' for the African star with hopes of a new San Siro deal all but dead in the water.

The Verdict: Get it done...

Bypassing Kessie's estimated £43.2 million market valuation and signing him for free would be a major coup by the Anfield side and one which would undoubtedly delight Klopp.

His manager, Stefano Pioli, has even branded Kessie a 'sumptuous' player and his goal threat from the middle could be a real asset to Liverpool.

At just 25, the player also comes with great potential for future sell-on value and Liverpool stand to gain a lot if they win the race for his signature.
