Jurgen Klopp has teased Liverpool fans with a potential transfer boost in signing Jadon Sancho this summer.
Several Premier League sides have showed their interest in snapping up the Bundesliga star, including the Reds and rivals Manchester United. According to Sportbild (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), Klopp thinks Sancho would suit Liverpool red, but he would be surprised if he was to make the move to Merseyside.
“I don’t think such a transfer will take place this summer,” the title-winning manager said. “He is a very interesting player. If he moved to Liverpool, I would be the most surprised of all.”
Could Liverpool sign Jadon Sancho this summer?
As newly crowned Premier League winning and reigning Champions League title holders, the Reds have a very strong lure. However, Dortmund have quoted a £117 million transfer fee for Sancho and after missing out on signing Timo Werner, it seems Liverpool may struggle to find the funds.
However, some Kopites are holding onto hope, particularly after Klopp said “a red jersey would look very good on Jadon Sancho.” One fan has replied to the news saying the German is ‘teasing me’ with the idea of signing Sancho, whilst another thinks the winger would be Liverpool’s ‘marquee signing’ ahead of next season.
