Many Liverpool fans have been left loving a transfer update from Fabrizio Romano on Ibrahima Konate.

As per a tweet from the Italian football journalist and transfer guru, the Anfield faithful are indeed interested in signing the RB Leipzig central defender, as he is one of the targets on their list.

Talks are ongoing between the two clubs on personal terms, which would be a deal at the Merseyside club until June 2026, although nothing is done or signed yet.

Konate has a release clause €40m (£34.1m), and the Bundesliga team would want Jurgen Klopp's side to pay it in full if they were to sell the France U21 international.

Nonetheless, it is exciting times for several members of the Reds faithful as it looks very possible that they could sign a potential long-term partner for Virgil Van Dijk come the summer transfer window.
