The connections between Thiago Alcantara and Liverpool continue to grow as now Jurgen Klopp has given the transfer the green light.
The Reds boss has reportedly instructed the club to sign the Spaniard after personal terms have been agreed. According to Bild (relayed via @AnfieldEdition), Liverpool are willing to table an offer of €25million (£22.5m) but Bayern Munich are looking for a fee closer to €40m (£36.1m).
Would you like to see Liverpool sign Thiago?
However, with the Bundesliga side eager to finalise a deal in order to fund their own summer shopping, they could be willing to settle for the lower amount.
Liverpool fans are thrilled to hear the deal is progressing and are urging Fenway Sports Group to get the ‘bargain’ signing over the line. One supporter has tweeted ‘this better be true’ whilst another has said ‘please FSG I’m on my knees’.
Kopites are eager to see the 29-year-old join Anfield to help boost their chances of a second Premier League title next season. He is certainly a player with a great pedigree, having racked up 42 goals and 57 assists for Barcelona and Bayern Munich in his career to date.
