Liverpool: Fans slam FSG as Jurgen Klopp admits no big signings will be made this summer

Jurgen Klopp has come out and said Liverpool will not be breaking the bank in the upcoming transfer window.

Despite being crowned Premier League champions, the Reds are reportedly not expecting to have a busy summer in terms of new signings. Klopp, as reported by James Pearce, has admitted the club will ‘try to find solutions internally’ in what promises to be an exciting 2020/21 campaign for the new top flight winners.

“There is still a lot to come from this squad. We have three or four players here who can still make big steps,” said Klopp, stressing the importance of being ‘creative’ with the team.

Liverpool’s last big money signing was Alisson from Roma in 2018, costing a world record fee for a goalkeeper at the time of £67 million (via Sky Sports). It could be argued that the Reds merely need to recruit squad players rather than household names, but a lot of fans beg to differ.

One supporter has slammed the club’s owners by tweeting ‘FSG out’, as they clearly think they are being too cautious with money. Another has said it’s the ‘same old story’, as Liverpool lost out on signing heavily-linked Timo Werner earlier this month.
