Rumours are rife in the Transfer Tavern today concerning the fate of Liverpool’s maverick striker and Italy international, Mario Balotelli.
After only joining last summer for a fee of £16 million, the Daily Mail are saying his time is up at Anfield after a disappointing debut season that saw the ex-Man City striker only net once.
Reports suggest that a return to Serie A is on the cards, with Sampdoria set to be the most likely destination – however their club president wants to pay an even lower price for the striker than the current fee of around £7 million being discussed.
Seeing the front man score just one goal, for him to then leave at a loss of upwards of £9 million is not being looked upon fondly by the Liverpool fans, who are having a few pints in the Tavern today!
