Journalist James Pearce has urged Liverpool to move on from striker Divock Origi this summer as they look to return to the top of the Premier League.
After the title win of last season, the Reds’ campaign this time around has been extremely disappointing. As it stands, Jurgen Klopp’s side are sixth in the table, 19 points off leaders Manchester City (Sky Sports), and have only won two of their last 11 games in the competition (liverpoolfc.com).

Origi is somewhat of a cult hero at Anfield, having played a big role in their 2019 Champions League win, but he has failed to have any real impact on the team so far this term. In 16 games in all competitions, he has managed just a single goal (Transfermarkt). It is these performances that have led to Pearce urging FSG to let him leave the club this summer, while he has also demanded that the owners back Klopp in the market to allow him to sign another striker.

Pearce’s comments, which were shared by Twitter account @AnfieldWatch, attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
