Liverpool should consider making a move for these 2 midfielders this summer – Agreed?

Liverpool supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern remain optimistic that they can challenge for the Premier League title next season, even without having spent hundreds of millions.

Manager Jurgen Klopp wouldn’t have been best pleased that their top-four finish last term was only confirmed on the final day following a comfortable three-nil victory over Middlesbrough.

Whilst many will deservedly blame the squad’s defence for not meeting the standards of their nearest rivals, the overall team wasn’t good enough to make a hunt for the first place realistic, especially with constant injuries not helping.

Our Reds-mad landlord thinks the midfield needs to be looked at over the course of this transfer window – he thinks that Klopp should allow the deadwood to depart and bring in some fresh faces to reinforce the middle of the pitch and improve the quality of the side.

So with that in mind, here are TWO midfielders Liverpool should consider making a move for this summer…..do you agree?

Javier Pastore

The 27-year-old has been a mainstay in France’s Paris Saint-Germain squad for the last six years following a move from Italian outfit Palermo in 2011, but his chances last season were limited to just fifteen in Ligue 1.

Perhaps not an acquisition that would get the fans in the Football Transfer Tavern buzzing, Javier Pastore is certainly a solid midfielder and may need Premier League football to prove that.

The Argentine has Champions League experience and will add depth to the heart of the pitch in what will be a chaotic campaign for the Anfield side as they look to compete in every single competition.

Manu Trigueros

Liverpool have been known in recent years for signings player that go under the radar and a lot of the big clubs miss out on these hidden gems.

At 25 years-old, Manu Trigueros is one of the most consistent midfielders in Spain’s La Liga having played in all but one game during the 2016/17 campaign for Villarreal.

He also played a pivotal role in the Europa League and I am surprised that from those performances he hasn’t attracted more interest, this really is a move that would get supporters by-the-bar talking.

Liverpool fans, do you need two additional midfielders? Would you welcome these two to Anfield? Let us get your thoughts in the comment section below!
