According to German reports, he will be made available for sale with Liverpool ready to make their move for the long-term target.
The Reds had reportedly tried to lure the German defender to the club last summer and could now revive their approach with a full back being a transfer priority for the upcoming transfer window.
The 23-year-old left-back would now be interested in a switch to Anfield with Champions League returning next term after the astonishing season under Rodgers.
