Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland has been in exceptional form for his club so far this season, with a return of 20 goals from just 13 matches in all competitions going into this weekend.

The 19-year-old Norwegian, whose father Alf-Inge played in the Premier League, is understood to be a transfer target for Liverpool, with Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira tweeting (via @NicoShira) this week that the Reds are “following” the teenager.

The Anfield club should already be aware of the penalty box threat that Haaland possesses, with the youngster scoring against the Reds in Salzburg’s 4-3 Champions League defeat at the start of October.
He is the leading scorer in the competition so far this season with six goals to his name already, three of which came in a 6-2 drubbing of Genk last month.
Haaland’s 20-goal return for the season thus far is one better than the combined tally of Liverpool forwards Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, who between them have made 40 appearances in 2019/20. [via TransferMarkt]
