Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking over their shoulder after talkSPORT revealed that AC Milan have joined them in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Ciro Immobile.
Immobile moved to the Bundesliga last season from Torino after his stand out performances in Serie A last term.
But now it is a completely different situation for the 25-year-old as he has fallen out of favour with his current boss Jurgen Klopp, and has failed to carry his hot form into this current campaign.
In a time when Dortmund have needed him most, he has only managed to net three goals in 17 games, which has been factor as to why they are so low down in the table.
But Liverpool are confident they can turn his fortunes around and if they can get him firing on all cylinders, he could become one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League.
It will be similar to the signing of fellow Italian striker Mario Balotelli after he was brought to Anfield whilst in questionable form, but Brendan Rodgers will hope Immobile will make more of an impact.
But the Reds will have to fend off interest from Milan, who are now considered favourites to sign him, as they are willing to pay his £13m price tag.
